Well, with all the washouts, mainly on a Thursday for 7 straight weeks, its been rather difficult for our Thursday ladies to get a look in…. but eventually the rain stopped, the course rather soggy, very actually… we have all survived.
Monday golfers survived the best, but also, the rain washed Monday out for a couple of weeks too … did the gardens good apparently, but not our demeanor for wanting to get back to the game we love.
We had a terrific day on Monday 19th April, with Round 1 of Chicks with Stiks … hosted by Tally Valley, and a great days golfing (for some) .. The Committee had done a fabulous job, the catering, welcome gifts, lunch , and more importantly, the weather … was a perfect day. Tally Valley welcomed Canungra, Boomerang Farm and Tallebudgera for the annual competition… and the results of the day were very close:
1st: Tallebudgera 29.5
2nd Tally Valley 28.5
3rd Boomerang Farm 27.6
4th Canungra 27.3
Congratulations go to Tallebudgera…. there are 3 rounds to go, and the Club with the best combined score after these rounds takes home the Trophy for 12 months.
Special thanks goes to Tony Wolsey, from Drummond Golf in Burleigh for sponsorship of this event.
